Stoplock Newspaper
Print Design, Newspaper
I produced a Newspaper for Stoplock to highlight the rise in vehicle crime and that people need to take extra measures (such as a steering wheel lock) to protect themselves from being a victim. The Steering wheel lock brand used to be seen as a somewhat dated product but now with keyless entry vehicle theft becoming a more common occurrence, sales have increased and more effort is being spent to put the brand in front of people. The newspaper medium was chosen as it stands out amongst the flyers and brochures that are frequent in the motoring accessory industry.
For me working on this as a designer, it was a lot of fun! I've never designed a newspaper before and it became a very exciting piece to work on, with a lot of good feedback from both sales reps & customers to show the time was well spent. The printers did a great job in offering help and advice for printing in this medium. Right from the start I wanted to go with a yellow and black print, but the brands traditional 100% yellow didn't show up as well so I went with a more Magenta fuelled yellow throughout. It was also decided that we should have products on every page (I wasn't that keen), but I can see it working now, alongside the articles and information presented.
